As we look toward Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, we’re inviting you to join us on a transformative journey of faith and commitment. This 90-day challenge is about stepping out in trust, believing God for miracles in your life and our church, and preparing our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.
This is a call to fully trust God with your finances by committing to a FULL 10% tithe for the next 90 days. Scripture reminds us in Malachi 3:10 to “test” God in this—to bring the whole tithe and see if He will not open the floodgates of heaven to pour out blessings. If by the end of the challenge, you haven’t experienced God’s faithfulness—not necessarily monetarily, but in every area of your life—we will refund ALL of your contributions, no questions asked.
As a church, we are making this same commitment to trust God. Turner Monumental will tithe 10% of all funds raised during the 90 days to support ministries outside our walls. Together, we’ll bless communities in need, such as the victims of the LA fires and schools in the 18th Episcopal District. Just as you are stepping out in faith, our church is demonstrating trust in God’s provision and using your gifts to make a tangible difference in the world.
For the next 90 days, commit to being in in-person worship every Sunday unless extreme circumstances prevent you. This is about more than attendance—it’s about putting God first, making space for Him in your life, and honoring Him with your presence. Let’s make Sunday mornings a sacred, non-negotiable time for worship and community.
As you prepare to take this challenge, begin with prayer. Ask God to guide your heart, to help you trust Him fully, and to reveal His faithfulness through this journey. We believe that as we commit to Him together, we will see God do incredible things in our lives and in our church.
To join the challenge, sign up using the form via the Turner QR Code so we can track your participation and walk with you in this season of faith.
Are you ready to trust God? I dare you to step out in faith. Together, let’s watch what God will do. Easter is coming, and so is your breakthrough!

What is tithing?
Tithing is the biblical principle of giving 10% of your income back to God as an act of worship, trust, and obedience. The word "tithe" literally means "a tenth." It demonstrates gratitude for God's provision and faith in His ability to meet your needs.
Biblical Reference: "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it." (Malachi 3:10)
---------------------
Why should I tithe?
Tithing is a way to honor God with the first fruits of what He has given you. It helps keep God at the center of your finances and reflects your trust in Him as your provider. It’s also an act of obedience that aligns with biblical teaching.
Biblical Reference: "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine." (Proverbs 3:9-10)
---------------------
Does God really need my money?
No, God doesn’t need your money—He is the Creator of everything. Tithing isn’t about God needing resources; it’s about you demonstrating trust and obedience while supporting the work of His Kingdom on earth through the church.
Biblical Reference: "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." (Psalm 24:1)
---------------------
Where should I give my tithe?
Your tithe should go to the local church, which serves as the "storehouse" mentioned in Malachi 3:10. The church uses these resources to advance God’s work through worship, ministry, outreach, and community support.
Biblical Reference: "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house." (Malachi 3:10)
---------------------
Can I tithe my time or talents instead of money?
While giving your time and talents is important and encouraged, tithing specifically refers to giving a portion of your income. It’s a tangible way to honor God with your finances and demonstrate trust in Him.
Biblical Reference: "On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made." (1 Corinthians 16:2)
---------------------
What if I can't afford to tithe?
Tithing may seem challenging, but God asks us to trust Him with what we have. Start where you are, and let tithing become a step of faith. Many who tithe find that God provides in ways they couldn’t imagine.
Biblical Reference: "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)
---------------------
What blessings can I expect from tithing?
Tithing invites God’s blessings into your life, not just financially but in every area. The blessings may include spiritual growth, provision, and an increased trust in God.
Biblical Reference: "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Luke 6:38)
---------------------
Is tithing still relevant today?
Yes, tithing is a timeless biblical principle that reflects our faith in God. It’s a way for believers to actively participate in God’s work and grow in obedience and trust.
Biblical Reference: "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill, and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former." (Matthew 23:23)
---------------------
What if I tithe and don’t see blessings immediately?
God’s blessings don’t always come in the form of material gain or immediate outcomes. Trusting God through tithing is about faithfulness and obedience. The rewards often come in spiritual growth, peace, and God’s perfect timing.
Biblical Reference: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." (Galatians 6:9)
---------------------
Should I tithe on my gross income or my net income?
The Bible doesn’t explicitly say whether to tithe on gross (before taxes and deductions) or net (after taxes and deductions). The principle of tithing is about giving God your first and best. Many choose to tithe on gross income as an act of faith, trusting God with all their resources. Ultimately, it’s a personal decision between you and God based on your faith and understanding of His provision.
Biblical Reference: "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops." (Proverbs 3:9)
